The Object of Cross-Examination.

The object of cross-examination is two fold; to weaken, qualify or destroy the case of the opponent and to establish the party's own case. In fine, the purpose of cross-examination is to impeach the veracity, accuracy, credibility and the general value of the evidence given in the examination-in-chief.
