Supreme Court as court of record

108. The Supreme Court shall be a court of record and shall have all the powers of such a court including the power subject to law to make an order for the investigation of or punishment for any contempt of itself.

The State, reported in 30 DLR (1978) page-112 our Appellate Division has held that: "The investigation by the police is for the purpose of collection of evidence in support of the offence or offences alleged to have been committed on a certain date by a certain person or persons.
