Magistrate can take cognizance of an allegation of misconduct of a police officer under section 190 (1) (c) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898

Regulation-25. (a)Whenever an allegation of misconduct on the part of a police officer comes to the notice of a Magistrate otherwise than under regulations 24, 26 or 28, he may, if he considers it necessary, take cognizance of the case under section 190 (1) (c) of the Code of Criminal Procedure
